Diveworks Charters has had a close association with Whale Island since 1995 and for a number of years was the Whakatane Coastguards support vessel for Whale Island tours transfering and showing 1000's of people over the Island.

Since 1999 Diveworks have been the Department of Conservations preferred operator for Whale Island servicing and transfer of Firewatch crews weekly throughout the summer months.

1000s of trees, The majority of Kiwis, Tuataras, saddlebacks that now inhabit the island were transported out on Diveworks.
